A WORLD OF DISCOVERY: MONTESSORI AREAS OF THE CLASSROOM

Our curriculum is centered around five distinct classroom areas, each designed to ignite a love of learning:

• Practical Life: Through real-life activities, children cultivate independence, self-care skills, and a sense of responsibility for their environment. These hands-on tasks not only build concentration and fine motor skills but also instill a sense of accomplishment and confidence.
• Sensorial: This captivating area features specially designed Montessori materials that engage all the senses. Children embark on a journey of sensory discovery, exploring concepts like dimension, color, texture, and volume, laying a solid foundation for future learning.
• Math: Our hands-on approach allows children to grasp abstract mathematical concepts with ease. From basic number recognition to exploring addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, children progress at their own pace, utilizing Montessori materials that make learning tangible and enjoyable.
• Language Arts: Our classrooms are rich in language, fostering a love for communication and expression. Children develop phonemic awareness, engage with tactile "Sandpaper Letters," and experience a holistic approach to literacy, transitioning seamlessly from spoken language to reading and writing.
• Cultural: This area is a passport to global exploration! Through hands-on experiences and cultural celebrations, children develop a deep appreciation for global diversity, honing their curiosity and understanding of the world around them.Cultural studies in Montessori encompass Science, History, Geography, Music, Art and Peace Education.

By completing our Pre-Kindergarten program with our whole child approach, children graduate as confident, well-rounded individuals, fully equipped to excel academically and socially in Kindergarten and beyond.  Whether continuing their journey at Springfield Montessori or elsewhere, our graduates possess the skills and confidence to thrive.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING TO MEET YOUR NEEDS:

We understand that every family has unique needs.  That's why we offer a variety of program options for our Pre-Kindergarten program. With flexible scheduling with options for 5 days, 4 days, or 3 days per week.

• Morning Session: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
• Full Day Session: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
• Extended Day Session: 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
• PM Program: 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm                         
                            12:00 pm to 6:00 pm
                             3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

PM AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM:

At Springfield Montessori, learning and discovery continue beyond the classroom. Our PM After-school Enrichment Program is designed to support the whole child through creative, engaging activities in a warm, Montessori-based environment.

Led by fully credentialed, Montessori-trained staff, our after-school program promotes socio-emotional, academic, and creative development through hands-on learning and meaningful experiences.

Weekly enrichment activities enhance the children's experience with Music, Yoga, Painting and numerouse celebrations and events, including but not limited to: Birthdays, 100th Day of School, Valentine Cookie Decoration, Mother's & Fathers Day Projects, Diwali Celebration, Thanksgiving Celebration, Christmas Party, Community Helpers Month, Grandparents' Day, Harvest Celebration, Winter Celebration,  and End of the Year Picnic.

Sample of Afternoon Schedule:

• Recess: 3:00 to 4:00 pm
• Snack: 4:00 to 4:15  pm
• Arts, Music, Yoga: 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
• Story Time: 5:30 pm to 5:45 pm                         
• Dismissal: 6:00 pm
